Can water be added to our food?

There is no need to add any water to Wolfworthy, it is designed to be eaten straight from the bag. However, we are occasionally asked if our food can be soaked to soften it. There are reasons for this such as an elderly dog who has had teeth removed or a younger dog who prefers something softer to eat. Whatever the reason, the answer is yes!

Wolfworthy won't make a paste in a few minutes like other foods, the high amount of meat means it is denser than traditional kibble and we do not include grains that swell and soften easily in water.

The best way to soften it is to either soak it overnight in the fridge before mashing the next day or add hot water and let it soak and cool before breaking up with a fork (about 1 hour). We do not advise leaving it to soak on the counter-top for more than an hour as in warmer weather this can encourage bacterial growth.

If you add water and feed it straight away, it will make a watery gravy which some dogs enjoy and is great in summer to help keep your dog hydrated!

Do you love the idea of feeding raw but hate the mess, fuss or your dog just won't eat it? Wolfworthy is the dry food alternative to feeding raw. It has the same health benefits but is easy to store, handle and travel with. So you can relax knowing your dog is satisfied, healthy and well-cared for but without all the hassle.
